Make a difference in a childs life by supporting the childrens programs of The Salvation Army Every year The Salvation Army extends helping hands to thousands of children and teens from the Portland Metro area. They are hungry, homeless, running from abusive situations, or lacking the basic necessities to be successful in life. Solving these problems is critical but costly. And that's where you come in - by supporting our 13th Annual All About Kids fundraising event. This unique event brings together several hundred corporate, civic and community leaders to learn about, celebrate, and raise funds for the many Salvation Army programs dedicated to serving children. Since 1995, All About Kids has raised over 1.5 million dollars. This year we hope to add another $200,000 that will enable our essential services to continue. Children need safety, security, and guidance. Every day, hundreds of our kids have these vital needs met through The Salvation Army's programs. Programs that can only function because of the generosity of local individuals and corportations. On behalf of the children we serve, we sincerely thank you for your support. Spot 1 - Andrew Spot 2 - Kate Your Sponsorship and Participation benefit the following programs: Camp Kuratli at Trestle Glen Allows over 1,000 low-income kids an opportunity to attend summer camp, designed to provide friendship and guidance.  Harbor Light Shelter Offers short and long term housing for families needing a safe place to live while recovering from various hardships.  White Shield Center Offers shelter, education services, medical and mental health treatment to teenage girls who are pregnant or parenting an infant. The Wildflower Progarm provides teenage girls with a safe place to stay while receiving an education and treatment for physical and emotional abuses. West Women's & Children's Shelter Furnishes shelter and support services to homeless and abused children and their mothers, nearly all of whom are victims or witnesses to domestic violence. Community Centers & Family Services Equip low-income children and their families with energy assistance, school supplies, winter coats, and emergency food boxes, while offering a variety of prgrams including: music lessons, computer clubhouse, vacation bible school, and sports activities.
